Yale EA
Harvard
Stanford
Columbia
Chicago
Duke
Northwestern
U-Penn
Michigan (double legacy and in-state, is this sufficient for a safety?)
NYU
Georgetown
Cornell
UVA
UC-Berkeley

What are my chances?
Yale is my top choice and I will be applying early there.

Okay so whoever posted above me, this guys SATs are not weak. Don’t focus on the writing just look at M and V. Both are good. EC are not amazing but if you provide more detail/build them up they could be better. Maybe try to really do alot with one between now and nov. so that you will have more to say.
Yale EA- reach
Harvard-reach
Stanford-reach
Columbia-slight reach
Chicago- ( i am bad with Uchicago but) slight reach/reach
Duke- ( same as Uchicago) reach
Northwestern- in
U-Penn- match/slight reach
Michigan (double legacy and in-state, is this sufficient for a safety?)
NYU- in
Georgetown- you never know with them
Cornell-match/slight reach
UVA- slight reach
UC-Berkeley - ( same as Uchicago)- slight reach/match if you are not from california.

Thanks for the chances.
I would personally be pretty happy with Columbia.
How is Columbia with Financial Aid for Early Decision? If my chances at Yale are close to none, I may want to do Columbia ED instead..
Money will play somewhat of a role (It’s very likely that I’m going to Michigan.)

Does being Treasurer of the Young Republicans club count for anything?

You have a really long list of reach schools. Are those really 15 schools you’d like to go to, or rather, 15 schools that you need to apply to? 15 apps is a lot to write.

I took seven because I slacked off a little bit in high school and I wanted to show colleges that I can do the work (high SAT II scores overall).

I know it’s a lot.. I could definitely take some off my list.
Michigan and NYU are the easiest to get on from my list.
However, I think it’s a good idea to apply to a lot of good schools and see where I get in but I have plans to cut my list down to ten.

15 apps is ok if you have a red flag in your app, like the low GPA (relatively of course). Honestly, you’re just lazy if you don’t want to dish out the money and time for an investment of 4 years of your life, but just make sure it’s a smart investment. Some people need to apply to more, some people don’t need to. It all depends on the individual. If you think applying to so many is neccesary for your goals and situation, do it, and don’t let anyone tell you to change your mind

wow dude i wish that i could have credentials anywhere where yours are
do u think u could chance/tip me on how im doing so far?
im only a rising sophomore
thanks!
