University of Michigan
UCLA
Virginia Tech
Boston College
My stats:
4.21 projected gpa at the end of junior year/unweighted is 3.8-3.9
APs so far include: psych, world history, us history, and lang
senior course: ap lit, ap econ, ap comp gov, ap bc calc, and apes
took all honors and ap from sophomore and junior
sats: world history 800
math 2: pending
sat I: writing 740 math 750 and critical reading 640
ecs: 5 honor societies, part of board for one
tutoring programs and volunteering at the hospital
nasa internship for engineering (4 engineering credits)
and uva introduction to engineering program
model un and red cross
how do my chances look?
btw. im applying as an economics major
so most likely college of arts and science or letters and science</p>

<p>i would say if you keep your grades steady junior year, you have a good shot at these schools. UVA is usually a reach for anybody who is out of state but i would definitely say you are a good competitor!</p>
<p>It looks decent for UVA just because of how competitive it is out of state, however the thing that I’m worried about is that a lot of your strong ECs (the NASA and UVA one) are for engineering, and yet you are applying as an econ major. Some colleges may see that as a red flag, however if in your essays you explain that discrepancy, it’d probably be ok.</p>
