Chance me for UVA (engineering)!

I'm currently a junior in VA. (female, Asian)

SAT I (breakdown): M 720 CR 720 W 760 (1st time taking it)
SAT II: none yet, planning on taking Math II, Literature, and a Science
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 4

AP scores: 5 on AP Human Geo (self-study), 5 on AP Psychology (self-study), 4 on AP World

Extracurriculars: National Honor Society, National English Honor Society (Vice President), National Math Honor Society (Treasurer), National French Honor Society, FBLA

Current AP's: AP Calculus BC, AP Lang, AP US History, AP Statistics

I volunteer at my local library for 2 hours/week.

Where I'm looking to apply:

MIT (I know this is definitely a reach)
Georgetown
UVA
Case Western
Virginia Tech

MIT seems like a bit of a reach for you. You’re definitely in at VT. And you have a pretty good chance at the other three, as far as I know.

I’m sure if you take the SAT II’s and continue with your rigorous course selection, you’ll be fine for UVA. If anything, I’d just say work on your EC’s and standing out. I think being in state makes it a bit easier, though.

MIT - reach
Georgetown - high (as in tougher) match
UVA - low match
Case Western - safety?
Virginia Tech - safety?

If this is your first SAT, you can definitely improve it. You should also boost your EC’s if you have the time.
