I’m applying to Bowdoin this fall probably ED and I was wondering if I have a decent shot
Weighted GPA - 4.54
Unweighted GPA - 3.8
SAT - 2200
Critical Reading - 800
Writing - 730
Math - 670

EC:
-Varsity lacrosse for all four years
-Varsity basketball for 3 years and captain this year
-Founder and Co-Chair of my Temple Community Garden
-Social Justice Internship
-Co-President of Athletes Serving the Community (a community service group)
-graduate of a National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Alaska backpacking course
-member of my schools Sustainable Agriculture Project
-Peer tutor
-Distribution Manager of my school newspaper

I think the operative word is “Could.” It would seem that Bowdoin turns down a lot of people with qualifications just as strong or stronger than yours, but if it is your favorite school and you are willing to pass up an ED acceptance at another school for the sake of attempting to get into Bowdoin, you should go for it.

You are a good candidate, ED would be a smart move if you really like Bowdoin. The admission rate in RD last year was in the 10-12% range according to one of the admissions reps I spoke with when my daughter visited last April- D is there now and loves it!
