Work on getting SAT scores up. Do you have any leadership examples you could highlight?

Sorry I took so long on this response but thank you for the comment. Besides the basketball team I don’t have much leadership experience. Is there anything else you could tell me to help my chances?

Take everything college confidential, especially and emphasizing on “chance me” replies, with very light weight…BUT, your GPA seems good. To calculate your UF GPA, simply take all your regular classes and add the grades on a 1.0-4.0 scale (4.0=A). Then divide by # of classes. So for example, if you have 5 regular classes, which 3 being As and 2 being Bs…your GPA would be calculated as 4.0+4.0+4.0+3.0+3.0 divided by 5 (answer is 3.6 btw). If you come across a honors course, do the same thing as a regular course except add a 0.5. For AP, add a extra 1.0.

UF GPA includes ONLY the grades for classes in Math, English, Science, History, Social Studies, and Foreign language.

For each Honors class add .5 point to your grade, for each AP or dual enrollment class add 1 point to the grade.

For a decent shot, you need to get your SATs up near 2100 (31 ACT).

Oh well coin flip.
I hope i get in.
aiming for 28 on ACT

@myluckydog: Are you kidding me? For a decent shot SATs need to be at least a 2100 SAT or 31 ACT? Lol come on now. I’ve seen SO many people get in with a 25 ACT, or even 23!! And I’ve seen a few 1500 and 1600 SAT score people get in.

UF is more concerned in students as an overall individual. How they will impact the campus AND if they have a leadership type of spirit. Even then, a student may get in without these qualities (you never know, that’s why you apply). You CAN’T simplify admissions. You can’t. It’s way to complex, way too indepth to just assume or speculate. You can ask admissions questions about their processes but some of them might just flat out say you can’t simplify the admissions.

Agree with Sabertooth on the SAT score… A 2100 is more like the honor program than the regular university lol, an 1800+ makes chances pretty good IMO. And as Sabertooth said, they do look at things holistically. I also think class rank is one of the bigger factors, so you might want to see where you stand among your school.

Recently took the SAT again and now have an 1840 (1250 Math&Reading). Also got a better understanding of my academic gap, I think it’s 3.45… change anything?

The schools I’ve applied to are University of Florida, Florida State, University of South florida, University of Minnesota, Clemson, Auburn. If you could chance me on those that’d be cool…

I see in at UF, FSU, and USF. I don’t know about the others though, sorry. Good luck!
