Chance Me Please! :)

Hi guys, I am a senior in high-school. I am a white female, who goes to a fairly large public high-school.

I have a 3.91 un-weighted GPA (out of 4) and a 4.45 weighted GPA. I am 5th in my class currently, out of a senior class of 488 students. I have taken both SATs and ACTS several times. My highest ACT score was a 31 composite (34- English, 32-Math, 31- Reading, 26- Science) with a 10 on the essay. My highest SAT score was a 2110 (690 CR, 700 Math, 720 Writing). However, I did take the SATs a third time on October 6th, so I will disclose those scores when I receive them.

I have taken ALL honors classes throughout my high-school career, including Honors World History, Honors World Lit, Honors US Lit, Honors US History 1, Honors Biology, Honors Chemistry, Honors Biology, Honors Physics, Honors Geometry, Honors Alg.2 (took Alg. 1 in middleschool), Honors Pre-Calc

These are the schools I am applying to! Please chance me
Boston College (Early Action)
Boston University
University of Richmond
Muhlenberg
Lafayette
Franklin and Marshall
Northeastern
Dartmouth (would be my top choice school, but I acknowledge that it is a reach)
Cornell

there are a few more I am applying to, but I feel that they are safeties so I won't post them right now. Thanks so much!

Oh, and I also forgot to mention that I have a part-time job at an Italian ice place! I also previously had a part-time job at a pizza place, but it went out of business. Thanks again.

I think you have a good shot at all these schools except for dartmouth, cornell, or bc.
The thing that worries me is that your test scores do NOT support your class rank. What I mean by that a person in your class rank does not usually have sub-700 SAT2’s or all 4’s on AP tests so it could make the adcomms question the rigor of your schools courses.

There is a mistake on here, I actually scored a 720 on math 1, not 670. And thank you for your opinion.

The only thing that I can say in regards to my class rank and any correlation to ap/ sat 2 scores is that as I stated I do go to a large public high school that is not exactly known for its students taking things too seriously academically. The rigor of my courses is actually extremely demanding, and is only embraced by a very small number of kids in my grade level (25-30 kids). Also, I am not a good test taker, and had to study for over a year extensively to score what I scored on my SATs and ACTs. I do see how that could make schools question my classes but I don’t believe that in my case that that is actually the scenario.

Also, do you think that the fact that I’m applying early action to BC will make acceptance to that school more attainable? It is currently my top choice school.

I would recommend applying to Brookdale Community College. It seems to be a good fit given your statistics. I would also consider Kean University, but as a reach school only.

Good chances for all except for Cornell and Dartmouth, in my opinion.
Ivies are a bit of a stretch without min 2200+ SAT, 33+ ACT.

Thank you for your opinion!

I am finished with taking ACTs, because they are not my strong suit, but re-took the SATs in October and hope to have done a little bit better to increase my chances with Dartmouth and Cornell, although they will likely remain reaches. And I am also taking the SATs again in November with the same purpose in mind.
