I am sorry to tell you that those are reach schools for you. Your ACT is way below their mid-50 (i.e. much lower than 75% of admitted candidates). Your GPA is not far off the average for UWI, but far below average for the other schools. You really should lower your standard to find some matching schools.

Thank you for responding. How about Iowa State, Minnesota - Twin Cities, or U of Kansas?

NWU: Reach
UWI: Aim for 29+/2000+
UMI: Reach
Grinnell: Reach
KU: Safety
UMN: Match
Iowa State: Safety

Thank you both. I had hoped getting my full IB Diploma (hopefully!) would help more with some of those “reaches”. Also, does anyone think being a “legacy” (dad and uncle UM - Twin Cities, mom UW - Madison) counts for anything?

With your current scores:

NWU: High reach
UWI: Reach
UMI: Reach
Grinnell: Reach
KU: Safety
UMN: Match
Iowa State: Safety

With a 30 on the ACT:

NWU: Reach
UWI: High Match
UMI: High Match/ Low Reach
Grinnell: Low Reach
KU: Safety
UMN: Low Match
Iowa State: Safety

I think you’re good for all of them with a 30+ on the ACT

What state do you live in?
