Chance me please! :)

Hi everyone! Thanks for taking the time to chance me!

I am looking at entering Chemical Engineering at:

MIT
Stanford
UC Berkeley
Caltech
Purdue
Princeton

Academics:

Rank: 3-ish / 300
GPA: 4.09
SAT : haven't taken yet
ACT: 30 (before taking precalc, will retake)
APs: Calc AB, Stats, Chemistry, US History, Government, Biology, Eng. Lit, Eng. Comp, Physics B, Human Geography

I also have taken several college level biochemistry classes through Purdue North Central.

Extracurriculars:

Academic Superbowl: 10-12, 6x Regional Champion, 3x Captain

National Honors Society: President

Chemistry Bowl: founder, President, Regional Champions 11-12

Swimming: Captain 10-12, Record Holder, 15x Conference Champion, Jr. Nationals Qualifier (ability to be recruited at all schools besides Stanford and Berkeley)

Applying through Questbridge.

Job: Lifeguard 9-12

2nd sport (not naming for anonymity): Multiple World Championship titles, 3x Athlete of the Year, etc.

Thanks for reading through this all guys! If there are any questions, feel free to ask, and I will chance back if you leave a link!:)

I mean I don’t think anyone is gonna believe you have won multiple world championship titles in your second sport. Anyway hard to tell without your sat and my unsureness in your athletic accomplishments, but your act is definitely too low

I guess to elaborate on my doubts, if you were a world championship winning athlete, you wouldn’t be on this site because you either wouldn’t need to go to college or would be getting so heavily recruited by colleges that you wouldn’t have to worry about it at all. The possibility that your trolling right now just seems very likely

Well it is a very “recognizable” sport, I should say, and if I did need to provide proof to a school on whether or not my statements were valid, I can. Once again, I took that ACT before I had taken precalc and my math sub score was horrendous, so I do believe that I can bump that up a couple points easily.

My sport, however, is not a sport that is per say a paying elite competition sport. It is not a sport that college recruit for either. I am sorry for the vagueness of this post, but I can assure you that I am not trolling.

bump 10char

MIT-reach
Stanford-reach
UC Berkeley- low reach
Caltech- reach
Purdue-match, safety
Princeton-reach

You’re applying to mostly competitive schools, so you never know what the results will be. You grades I think are a little low, and you should take the SAT/ACT again. I think your ECs are good, so you do have a chance at those schools.

Thanks for the reply so much and I will chance you back!:)

Match for Purdue Engineering (not safety). Reach for all the other ones. Did you take any subject tests? Preferably you should have Math2 and Chem SAT2. Otherwise, you can skip some schools from the list.
You may consider other schools at the same caliber as Purdue with good ChemE programs such as Wisconsin, Minnesota, and UIUC.

Thanks for the advice! I am going to take some SAT II’s this coming year after I finish the relevant AP coursework. I’m mainly considering very prestigious Questbridge schools on the hope that I get into the National College Match. However, I most likely wouldn’t attend a school out of state (I am in Indiana) because I have a 21st Century Scholars scholarship which would pay for my time at Purdue! Thanks for all of the input though! :)

University of Delaware also has a great chem engineering program!
