Chance me please!

I'm a bit nervous at the moment because I think I'm going to drop my Calc 1 class again with a W (second W on record) but I don't really need it considering I won't apply for UCI.

My top school is UC Davis and I plan to major in International Relations.

I've had a 3.0 gpa since I started going to ELAC but I got a 4.0 during spring semester and I plan on keeping that upward trend.

GPA: 3.4 (will be ~3.6 after Fall and if I drop Calc), 3.46 UC transferable
Major GPA: 3.25

Units: 55 done by fall but I will do part-time during spring to meet the 60 units requirement

Applying to: UCSD, UCD, UCR, UCSB, UCLA (just to try)

IGETC: Will apply for after Fall is finished

TAG: More than likely no because I'm dropping Calc and I didn't ask for exemption from the full-time requirement

PRE-REQ: Completed UCD, UCSD, and UCSB. UCR's pre-reqs aren't mandatory. I think I'm almost done with UCLA's pre-reqs.

Extra Curriculars:
Misc: Just joined Feminist Majority this semester (It only started during spring semester)
Volunteer: 300+ hours in HS, 3 years of a Volunteer Service Club
Leadership: President of Volunteer Service Club for 1 semester
Awards and Honors: Deans List 6/2013 (pretty sure I can get it again this semester)

Working on the personal statement!

Going to talk to the transfer counselor tomorrow to see what I should do about my situation with Calc and maybe about TAG :L

No one? :(

I’ve talked to one counselor about my situation with my Calc 1 class and he said it’s probably better to drop the class since I want to maintain my gpa and because of my family situation.

You may have lost some people at, “Just joined Feminist Majority this semester.”

If you’re okay with not applying or attending UCI then go ahead and drop the class. A 3.6 with pre-reqs completed is good enough to give you a shot at all the schools you listed.

I don’t know if International Relations is an impacted major or not but I’d say your chances are pretty good at every school with a 3.5-3.6 GPA. UCLA might be a slight reach if you haven’t completed pre-reqs. Might as well apply to Berkeley as well if you can afford to do so. Not sure if you’d even want to go there but you don’t want to put yourself in a situation where you think “what if?”

@Snorlaz, Ohh, haha my bad about that but thank you!!

It’s impacted at Davis so I’m worried about that. I’m still considering schools to apply to so Cal is a low maybe but who knows? :)

My mom wants me to consider attending UCI because it’s closer to home for her worries so I don’t really know and I just want to transfer already haha.
