Also, does being female help at all with my chances of getting into ME? What are the stats for women in ME?

bump

Hey,
You’ve got great stats and lots of good ECs w/leadership positions, I think most of the school on your list would be either high matches or low-mid reaches. Especially since you’re a female interested in engineering (though that distinction is sadly getting less and less of value :frowning: ). It wouldn’t hurt to get some work experience though!

As long as you do well on your app and get good recs, I don’t think you have much to worry about. :)

Chance me back?

bumppp

I also might apply to UPenn

shameless bump

Thanks for the chance.
Since you’re instate, I really think you have a good shot at the UC schools. Obviously a better chance at UCLA and UCSD over UCB, but then again, you might get accepted to UCB and not to the other UCs (knock on wood). Your two SAT II scores are well in the 700s - another edge. Great ECs and test scores.

UCB - High Match
UCLA - Match
UCSD - Match
Georgia Tech - Match
Purdue - Match/Low Match
UPenn - Reach

To be honest, you might have a better shot at UCs because you reside in California!

Thanks @Kokko2k15‌ !

You should get into all of them accept Penn. Apply ED to Penn if that is your number 1

bump

bumpity
The colleges I listed are what I think are my match schools btw (i have 2 safeties)
Berk is my #1, so I would like to know mostly about my chances getting in there.

I think they are all matches for you. UCB and UCLA would be your best bet as in state student at great schools. Purdue is a low match to safety, but it will be likely more expensive for you. So why bother.

@billcsho‌
so I just shouldn’t apply there? I heard it is one of the top engineering schools in the U.S. though

You may apply but you are likely to be accepted in state and pay a lot less.
