<p>you shouldn’t have any issue getting in </p>

<p>a lay up, but i would work on your SAT to get them up to 1900. Being URM is no reason to challenge yourself to get the very best SAT school and feel worthy that you belong in SU. There are tons of similar SATS and they get rejected and they aren’t URM. Using URM as a hook is an insult to all the kids that really want to be at SU and received the thin envelop.</p>

<p>A weighted 3.4 is not too hot</p>

<p>I got in with a 3.1 UW, 2010 SAT, and two half-a**ed ECs. Early Decision helps a lot and CAS is one of the easier colleges to get into.</p>

<p>I don’t see anywhere that the OP is “using” or abusing his status as an URM. I see it merely as one of many bullet points he mentioned. But I do agree that raising your SAT scores will help you greatly. Your ECs are strong (such as interning at a university) and being first generation does help. Is your GPA W or UW?</p>
