I’ve never done one of these “chance me” things, but I am very curious about the probability of getting accepted into one of the top colleges on my list
(California student applying as freshman)
Cumulative GPA unweighted: 3.86
Cumulative GPA weighted: 4.27
SAT Score: 1870
ACT Score: 27
Class Rank: 26/428 (So basically in the top 6% of my class)
By the end of this school year, I will have taken 11 AP classes. The majority of the other classes I have taken are either honors or advanced.
I think my personal statements were pretty good! I also filled out the activity journal with various community service (and an award that I received from it), my work experience, my President leadership positions in some clubs at my school, as well as my involvement in my school’s student government.
Thank you in advance! I understand that my scores are not as good as many of the other students in the UW discussion, so please give your honest opinion
You look competitive for general admissions at the University of Washington. Other students may have been trying for an engineering direct admit.
You will probably get in, but can you afford the fees?
Your GPA is a little above average, and your ACT is a little below average, but GPA is more important at UW. I think you will get in, even though UW had a 16% increase in OOS applications and a 31% increase from California this year. In fact, based on your ECs, academic record and APs, you might be in the running for a Purple and Gold Scholarship ($4,000 to $9,000 per year for 4 years). This merit scholarship makes UW an even better value for OOS students.
@JustOneDad Thank you so much for the feedback!
@"aunt bea" yes, I will be able to afford the fees
@UWfromCA Thanks for the feedback! I’ve been doing some research on the scholarship, and it’s good to know that someone thinks I might have a chance to get it
@ferdinand32 , I love it when I’m right (x 2)!
@UWfromCA You’re the best!!!
Hey you said you’re from near Sac on another post. Any chance your from Davis?
