@Gator88NE

Is 4.3 your UF GPA? If not, try to recalculate it. It’s +0.5 points for honor classes, and +1.0 points for AP/Duel Enrollment classes.

Otherwise UF looks like a solid match (as long as your UF GPA is a 4.1 or higher). Your EC’s are fine, but make sure you put some effort into your essay, it matters at UF.

You will be applying to the University (not the college of business), though you can start off in the college (and I would recommend you do). UF doesn’t consider SAT II test or AP test scores as part of admissions.

Good Luck!

How would I calculate it? Would I take my UW and add?

Have you looked at the SSAR, yet? You’ll need a copy of your transcripts before you fill it out.

UF’s grade point average computed by the college using only academic courses (English, math, science, social studies and foreign language). It is a weighted GPA but additional point values for honors, AP, or IB courses can vary. UF will give .5 points for honors, and 1.0 points for AP, and IB. The recalculated GPA is also referred to as the ACADEMIC GPA.

You can search the forums to find more examples:

You may have an issue with course rigor depending on the number of APs your school offers. You do not have any math or science APs nor the more “challenging” APs like US History. If you school offers them, you should consider adding some of the more rigorous AP courses like AP Calc, AP Physics and maybe AP English Lit in your senior year.

UF grants credit for AP scores 3 and above so you could knock out a few GE credits too.

@CaucAsianDad yes I forgot to include what I plan to take next year.
AP physics
AP chem
AP German
AP calc AB
Honors Brit lit
AP micro

Based on what I heard from my D’s GC (we are in-state with lots of UF applicants) that is kind of rigor UF likes to see senior year.

Also, along with strong ECs, most in-state applicants are volunteering a minimum of 100 hours to get Florida’s Bright Future scholarship, so it might be a good idea to keep the volunteering going.

@Gator88NE old post but would I be eligible for any OOS scholarships?
And do you know the broad qualifications for each?

The OOS scholarships are competitive, I’m not sure what stats would be required to be awarded one of the scholarships.

UF has three levels of OOS scholarships:

Name
Alumni $8,000 (25 awarded)
Sunshine $16,000(36 awarded)
Gator Nation $20,000 (32 awarded)

A total of 93 awarded compared to 773 admitted and enrolled OOS students in 2015.
