Chance me please

Loyola University Maryland, Boston College, Boston University, University of Maryland College Park, American University, and Georgetown are the only ones I know enough about to give feedback on.

I think you definitely have a good shot at College Park and Loyola. American University I think is a safe school for you, and both Boston College and Boston University are matches I think; it could go either way but you are a competitive applicant especially because of your wide array of extra curriculars. Georgetown is a stretch, but as you said it’s a stretch for everyone basically so I wouldn’t stress too much about it. Good luck!

I think that you have a great chance at all the colleges that you have listed. Your extra-curriculars are quite strong. I feel that you will get into Georgetown too. Best of luck!

I say overall you’re pretty strong, but Georgetown is really hard to get into so there’s a chance you might not get in. Everything looks great, but your GPA is a bit lower. Overall, I think you have a great shot!

I see no real snags or problem areas, the fact that you’re a legacy doesn’t hurt either. Other than the slightly low GPA I see no reason why you would have a problem getting into any of these, even Georgetown!

Boston college looks like a great fit because of the legacy, but you should be competetive enough everwhere else!

@hssenior27 Hey. Those are amazing stats. Could you post how you managed to get $400k on your non-profit as a highschooler. This feat would set you apart from the top college applicants, if you had applied there.

These are some great schools. I’d say mostly match/safeties.

Providence College: Not familiar with it
Loyola University Maryland: Safety
Boston College: match
Northeastern: match
Boston University: Match
University of Maryland College Park: Match
Ithaca College: Safety
University of San Diego: match
American University: match
Ohio State University: match
Georgetown: low reach

@Sypatel18 I am fortunate enough to know the owner of a former local sports team who very kindly donated money in addition to putting me in contact with other current owners of sports teams in MA and other wealthy people in MA. I also reached out to a former foster kid who is having a movie done on her story in the system and she was such a big help even agreeing to join on as a board member. She’s having my nonprofit help do the marketing for her movie and when the movie comes out I’ll be joining her in la for the premiere and potentially getting the nonprofits name in the credits. Honesty it took a lot of luck and generosity from others that I am so thankful for.

I would say that you have a great chance into all of these schools except georgetown would be a reach.

I think you have a really great chance at all of them, with Georgetown being the only difficult one. The competition is always tough but you’re definitely competitive. Good luck!

I think you have a pretty fantastic chance at most of these schools. My cousin goes to Georgetown, which is challenging to get into, although I’m sure you can make it!
Chance for chance? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1860844-what-are-my-chances-of-getting-into-prep-boarding-schools-please-help.html#latest

Can’t say much about most of these, but I’d be really shocked if you DIDN’T get into UMCP. Also, your wide range of sports ECs should help you a lot with these colleges

You are definitely a strong candidate. Low reach for for Georgetown, match/safety for all the others

You’re more than qualified for all the schools on your list! The only one i could see you not getting into is Georgetown Your composite SAT is a bit low, but your Math + CR score is above their average! Your ACT score is also really strong, and your ECs are great (seriously, $400k? Nice!) Good luck!

I think you’re a shoo in for a lot of these schools, given your scores. BC you’re definitely set because of legacy. Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1861688-chances-for-barnard-vassar-brandeis-etc.html

I’d say you have a pretty good shot at the solid, middle-of-the-road schools, but your GPA is on the low end and your average ECs (with the exception of the non-profit, which is incredible by the way. Congratulations on your success in making such a huge difference in the world, we need more people like you!) keeps Georgetown at that reach level. Of course, I’m a student, not an admissions advisor, so what do I know? Best of luck.

Providence college - SAFETY
Loyola University Maryland -SAFETY
Boston College - LOW MATCH (because of legacy)
Northeastern - LOW MATCH (at least where I’m from, a 4.0 W and 2000 SAT cuts it no sweat)
Boston University - SAFETY/LOW MATCH
University of Maryland College Park - SAFETY/LOW MATCH
Ithaca College - SAFETY/LOW MATCH
University of San Diego - SAFETY (probably, I don’t know too much here)
American University SAFETY/LOW MATCH
Ohio State University - SAFETY/LOW MATCH
Georgetown - REACH

I definitely think you have a terrific chance to get into a great majority of these schools.
You’re lacking a little bit in extracurriculars in general which might be a downside.
But you’re very involved in sports and have even created your own non-profit which are bound to help you.
I would say Georgetown might be the only. “reach school”

I think you have a great chance for all except, that Georgetown is a little bit of a reach. If you could raise your ACT to a 34 or your SAT to 2200, I could definitely see you getting in.
