You are in. Definitely at UCLA and/or UCB.
^^^ for sure. I think you’re exactly what they’re looking for. Good luck! Let us know the results!
You are a competitive applicant but definitely not a guaranteed admission. You have a very good chance but bumping up your SAT will help.
Since you are an OOS applicant, are these schools affordable without FA?
@Gumbymom Tbh, i dont know, but hopefully I can scramble for some scholarships here and there. I was also considering USC. What do u think are my chances? Also, how hard is it to get the full-tuition or half-tuition with my stats?
@laccstudent thank you so much for ur advice!
@nrvsabtcllg Hopefully I’ll get in. Thank u for the support. I will let u know.
BUMP!!! Chance me for USC plz???
UC’s offer little in the way of merit. Usually anywhere from $2500-5K/year and have to be in the top 1-2% of applicants. Unless you are full pay, UC’s are a bad option.
USC makes more sense for merit aid. What is your UW GPA? Also apply early for better chances at scholarships.
yes definitely, good luck!!
@Gumbymom 3.7 UW GPA, 4.4 W
USC does like high test scores so if you think you can raise your SAT, I would consider retaking. You are within range for USC but again if you are looking for significant merit aid, you need to be a top applicant. Run the Net Price Calculator and apply early. Good Luck.
Thank you for all ur help! Just a few last questions (sorry)… I am re-taking SAT in October, so when do u think I should submit my app with that in mind? Also, let’s say I get a 1450+ on the SAT, would that give me a pretty good chance to get significant merit aid? Thanks!!!
A 1450 SAT would put you above the 50th percentile for test scores, but UW GPA is below the 50th percentile. Again run the Net Price calculator to see what kind of aid you can receive at USC, apply early and hope you get lucky with the scholarships.
