I am afraid the low SAT will hurt me the most. Do I have a chance with such a low score?
I am no expert here but I think you will need to get your SAT up since you are out of state… I think the Psychology major may be easier to get into than other perhaps… but you could have a chance to be Bridged. I had a friend who’s daughters’ stats were similar and she was waitlisted until she switched her major to Psychology (she applied not knowing Health Sciences was so competitive) and she eventually got a Bridge offer and her SAT was 1240 I think. We don’t rank at our high school but she was a top student and athlete and fantastic student with a lot of rigor in her schedule. But her test score was not 1300+. But as competitive as it is for OOS… it’s hard to know. If you sister was admitted with similar scores… that’s hopeful.
@LivD99 I agree with @katcap as an OOS student you may really need to bring your test scores up. Your GPA, class rank and rigor all seem to be good and right in line with an applicant that would get admitted. However as you probably know Clemson is basically a stats school and does’t look at EC and recommendations etc.
Clemson has become very competitive especially for OOS applicants. If you can still do so I would try to get the SAT up or take ACT.
Good luck to you. With those stats I would think you could get into lots of good schools if you don’t get into Clemson.
Another thought is if it your dream school go to another school do well and then transfer. It is often easier to get into competitive schools as a transfer…
@katcap@burghdad I got a 1230 on my December SAT! Clemson has received all of my scores, 1040 in March, 1140 in May, 1190 in August, and a 1230 in December. Hopefully they see the vast improvement! Do you think I have a better shot?
