What is your unweighted GPA? If you can get your SAT up significantly, you should have a really good chance. Your rank is right in line with what Clemson looks for and your weighted GPA is great as are your extracurriculars. The competition now is just very fierce for Clemson, especially for out of state students, and Clemson does care a lot about SAT scores so I’d try really hard to get it up to at least the middle average range that they take, which is 1230-1390. Clemson also cares a lot about the rigor of your courseload in all four years, so if you’re taking APs and have a pretty full day of classes for your senior year, that’s a really big help.

@babytiger Thank you! My school does not calculate unweighted GPA, however I have never received a grade lower than a 91 in any of my classes (all honors/AP level). Based on that, my assumption is either a 3.9 or 4.0. My sister was admitted with an 1190 superscored SAT, lower GPA, but higher rank. I am definitely working to improve my SAT, i struggle on the math portion and will hopefully be able to superscore for at least a 1200. Clemson is my top school!

Yes, you sound good for that then. I was admitted with a 1220 however if you go to the thread where admissions decisions were posted there were many people with the same/higher score than me that were denied. My strongest point of my application was having 32 credit hours of dual enrollment completed as well as having the most rigorous schedule possible in my school as well as my rank. Clemson superscores the SAT so you definitely shouldn’t have an issue with getting up a few points to hit the 1200 mark. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

@babytiger If you don’t mind me asking, what major did you apply with?

If you retake your SAT it sounds like you have a great chance! I have a lot of older friends who currently attend Clemson with similar stats to you. Good luck! Also, what is your intended major? That can play a huge role in the admissions decision.

Please disregard my major question! I just saw it on the comment.

@emt Thank you!

@LivD99 I applied to the Education major

^ Meant to post that from my babytiger account, lol. Was going to usc then changed my mind hence the new account.

@uscgirl2023 @babytiger I got a 1230 on the December SAT! Are my chances stronger?
