Grades are perhaps regarded more seriously by FSU than SAT scores. Difficulty of courses figures into their review of applicant's credentials.

Bring up the grades and retake the SAT...then, apply early.

also make sure you have a strong senior schedule. we were told several times by admissions that this is one criteria used to measure applicants.... but as i said in previous posts, don't take on more than you can handle. some seniors take for granted their hs courses once they get in to colege. if you fear you may be one of those students, be careful how you plan your senior schedule.

good luck

Parent2noles and nycollegedad have given you great feedback - I ditto their comments.

What are your AP exam scores? Along with your grades and SAT/ACT scores, these will be on your official transcripts.

Perhaps your FSU weighted GPA on just academic courses is substantially higher than a 3.1? Closer to a 4.0 or better will help you get admitted.
They weight +1.0 for AP/IB courses and +.5 for honors or dual enrollment.

All I can say is apply early, for the love of all things in this world. I didn't apply early. And I suffered and got waitlisted and didn't get accepted until April 30th. My unweighted GPA was a 3.2 and my weighted was a 3.6. Pretty low compared to a lot of the other students admitted. My SAT/ACT scores were also pretty low. But what they did see was my twelve classes of dual enrollment and I'm pretty sure that's what got me in. So they do like to see that you're challenging yourself, which you are. So good luck.

krisssyyy

great tip. applying early is key and affords you so many more options. once the app is complete, you can always send in supplemental information i.e. awards, cs projects mid term grades etc.

Congratulations, Krissy!

My AP scores aren't in yet so I don't know.

My senior schedule is pretty heavy, though I did take a relaxing class [Drama].

I'll figure out my weighted, based on what you said, tomorrow.

And I'll apply early, thanks for the tip! I'll start working on that tomorrow.

Thank you all for your help!

Thanks. :) I'm so happy to be a Nole. It's the only place in the world where I want to be. Kinda funny, I had my keys on my FSU lanyard tonight at the movies and I had people asking me questions and advice on how to get in. I felt so proud to be a Nole.
