Chance Me Please?

I'm a junior and I'm thinking about applying to USD next year.

From Washington State

Difficult college prep Catholic high school

GPA: hopefully about 3.5 UW by the end of this school year. I had a 3.0 for one semester my freshman year, which is killing my cumulative. Other than that, most of my semester GPAs have been around 3.55

AP/Honors: I've only taken Honors Pre-cal so far & next year I'm taking AP/Honors Calculus. Most all of our AP/Honors classes require a GPA of 3.6 so It's been impossible for me to take any.

Rank: I'm probably ranked about 125-135/260ish.

SAT: I havn't taken it yet. But I got a what's equivalent to a 1770 on the PSAT, which I didn't try hard on at all. So my goal for the SAT would be a 1850-1900

ECs:
- Co-Head for one of the Crews in our Drama Department
- Senior Mentor to Freshman
- St. Vincent de Paul Society
- Spanish Club
- Amnesty International
- Environmental Club

Volunteer Work:
- By the end of this summer, I will have volunteered about 300 hours working at our Science Center's summer camps.
- I'm Head Sunday School Teacher at my Church. I'm overall, really involved in my church, if that helps at all.
- I sometimes volunteer at soup kitchens with my school

Extra Info:
- Asian
- Catholic
- Just a little extra facts. I really wanna help/work with kids for a living. I'm kind of deciding between being a teacher or a child psychologist. Most of my volunteer work has involved working with/teaching kids. (Sunday School teacher, Summer Day Camp). Next year, two of my classes are centered on helping/tutoring students. One class, we go to elementary schools in our area, and tutor kids. And the other class is tutoring other kids in our own high school.
- Average Accepted GPA from my school: 3.69
- Average Accepted SAT from my school: 1795

hard to say without an SAT score. Think you look as if you have a good shot at getting in. The ECs, and community service will help. Keep your grades up and do well on the SATs,but based on your gpa and PSAT, you have a decent chance of getting in.

and by the way, the admission director told us at the admitted students summer reception (Summer 08) that the average SAT for Class of 2012 was 1280, and gpa was 3.8. My daughter had below the average of both and got in.
