UF is hard to chance on. I know of better qualified candidates who were not accepted and lesser qualified candidates who were. If UF is reducing the number of Freshmen they accept this year, like they did the last year you may have trouble. Your SAT is low and I have heard admissions say more than once “we want A’s” when looking at GPA.

My son had a similar GPA and a 1380 SAT two years ago. He had three state level computing awards (networking and web development), a ton of community service, he is an Eagle Scout, president of school clubs, honor societies and both my husband and I are alumni. He didn’t get accepted. He dropped out of an IB program at the end of junior year and did a dual enrollment type of program at a local university, not community college. Apparently leaving the IB program and getting 26 hours of actual college credit did him in. Oh well, UCF has been a good place for his field of study.

Good luck on getting in, but remember if it doesn’t happen it isn’t the end. There are a lot of good schools.
