I'm an international student from Brazil and I need to know if I have any chances with a 3.73un GPA and 32 on the ACT. I'll also apply to Brown, Dartmouth, Lafayette and Tufts.
P.S.: I need full financial aid.
Thanks!

Honestly, I have no idea. You are missing TONS of key info, like extracurriculars, volunteer work, hooks, courses, etc. No one on here can really tell you, but to make you feel better, a significant portion of Cornell University (10%) is made up of international students. Good luck to you. Just 1 week more of waiting!

grades and test scores look good, but like jerseygirl91 said, you are missing tons of info.
good luck!

I sent this e-mail to Cornell: Here in Brazil, is not common for high schools to offer extracurricular activities and honors(e.g., poetry contest). Just some schools in major cities(e.g., Sao Paulo, Rio, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Curitiba) offer such programs. As a high school student from a small town in Brazil, I do not have any extracurricular activities nor any awards because my high school does not offer it. So, I would like to know if I would be at a disadvantage if I do not show any extracurricular activities, awards and community service in my application. All I have are excellent grades, recommendations and exam results. In this case, should I still apply or it is useless once I would not have any leardership experience to show?

and they aswered: It is not uncommon for international schools not to offer extracurricular activities, so you will not be at a disadvantage. The important thing for students to show is that they have challenged themselves in their particular academic environment. Given your context, if you can make the most of it, that is what is important. You may wish to send an explanation as mentioned in this email with your application.

So, considering this, strong recs, a great and passionate essay and my ACT score and GPA, do you think I have any chances? Is a 3.73un GPA good for Cornell?

Your GPA would probably keep you out of Cornell… if you were american. But thats because of grade inflation. Your chances are pretty good I’d say. What did you write about? If there are a significant number of Brazilians applying this year, you will be competing against them so your essay is going to carry a lot of weight. Good Luck, Hope to see you there next year!

I wrote about a person who had influenced me and helped me become a better person and how that helped me better the lives of others and my community. I also wrote another essay about my passion for the USA(its culture, people, everything). For a brazilian student, is my GPA enough? What about my chances at Brown, Dartmouth, Lafayette and Tufts? Thank you.

anyone else?

Its hard to say, there are few people for me to compare you to, but if I had to guess I would say your gpa is good. Again, it will depend on other people from your background and from Brazil, who you might be competing against.
