Chance me pls for HYPSM

Hi, I am a HYPSM hopeful and new to CC. I was wondering if anyone could chance me for them. I would just like to know what you guys think, I understand that none of you can perfectly predict whether I’ll get in or not :). I have already submitted the apps of course, I just want to know what you guys think. I want to major in Biology and become a doctor.

Ethnicity: South Asian
State: CA
I attend a pretty competitive public HS, which has multiple kids going to HYPSM every year

Here are my Stats:
GPA (Unweighted): 4.0
GPA (weighted) - ~4.62
SAT Score - 1600 (800 on both sections)

AP Tests:
AP Biology - 5
AP Chemistry - 5
AP Calculus BC - 5 (with a 5 on Calc AB subscore)
AP US History - 5
AP Language - 5
AP Physics 1 - 5
AP Physics 2 - 5

SAT Subject Tests:
Biology - 800
Chemistry - 800
Math IIC - 800

Literature - 800

ECs:

Research: 2 years ; was an Intel ISEF finalist ; attended RSI

Violin: Since 7th Grade ; attended All-State Honor Orchestra all 3 years (Concertmaster in 11th Grade) ; Concertmaster of local youth Orchestra’s highest level ensemble ; earned a Distinction (130+/150) on ABRSM Violin Grade 8 Exam

Science Olympiad - 3 years ; 3 National Medal (ranked top 5 in 1 event) ; Led team to qualify for Nationals for the 1st time ; Tutor in MS Science Olympiad Program

Hospital Volunteering - 3 years ; 300+ hrs

President of School Biology Club

Started the Pre-medicine Club (I want to become a doctor)

Math Team - Treasurer ; ranked nationally in some events (our school is very competitive in Math)

Speech and Debate - Won some regionals tournaments for LD form of debate

Awards:
USABO top 20 (Finalist) ; was an alternate for the US International Team
USAMO qualifier
AP Scholar
National Merit Semifinalist

BTW, I did Mah Team and Speech and Debate both for 3 years each.

Them SAT scores though xd. Hm, I think you stand a chance. Your USAMO qualification, RSI participation, ISEF spot in the finals and biology olympiad accomplishments will help a lot, especially because your regular stats (SAT scores, GPA, AP scores etc.) are good. Make sure your essays are solid and I’m pretty sure you’ll get admitted to at least one.

Thanks a lot Tomas1355. I definitely hope I get admitted as well :).

You do realize that these chance threads are useless right? Nobody here can predict or tell whether you will get into the college you want (accept maybe if there are any adcoms here)

Ya ik that is why I mentioned - I just wanna know what you guys think. I know they are pretty much useless. Plus, browsing through other Chance threads made me curious to see how my stats would be compared/reviewed. Thanks!

Are you serious? You honestly don’t know how to assess your own stats as someone who attended RSI, qualified for usamo and usabo? Just curious, why did you take so many sat 2, just for fun?

Joker?

@jakeowl I have heard that even people with these stats got waitlisted/rejected from HYPSM. Also, I decided to take all these SAT IIs to show the colleges that I excelled in subjects that are very important for an aspiring pre-med.
@Astro77 I am not joking

Well then am very impressed with your stats! I’m sure you’ll get in many schools. Remember to have fun and be a kid too.

Thank you @Astro77 .

Ok. You already know you have as good a chance as most anyone who isn’t hooked/legacy. Your stats are amazing, ECs are great too. Everyone can tell you that, so this post serves literally no purpose besides to stoke your own ego. Good luck, not that you need it.

@Orangecounty2 Very good chances, of course you know that. Are you applying anywhere SCEA?

I just got into Harvard REA! Yay!

@Orangecounty2 CONGRATS! Did you hear back from any other schools? Also, congrats on such a good GPA, SAT and SAT subject scores, and extracurriculars. With good essays, you have a really strong chance of getting into any school you apply to.

I happened to kept rosters for the past 3 years of CAMEC All-state Honors Orchestras, string and symphony, There were only a few 3-time violinists, but …

@Orangecounty2 are you applying to any other schools RD or you have already committed to Harvard?
