I am an african american male student living in southeastern KY but was born in Cameroon, Africa. I have been accepted into the seminar for african american scholars at ND. My gpa is 4.0 unweighted and around 4.15 weighted. before i graduate, i would have taken 5 AP courses which would have been the maximum available at my high school. I have taken the ACT once and got a 28. 31 in math and English, 29 in science and 22 in reading. I have played varsity basketball all through high school. what are my chances of getting into Wake and any other high profile schools?

Pretty good. Your GPA is great and they want to attract more minority students, so I think it’s a definite shot.

Since Wake is test optional, you can theoretically not send your ACT scores if you would not like to. Figured I’d let you know since I just posted in the other thread responding to a question about sending scores to Wake.

I’m not sure if a 28 is good or not (I never took the ACTs and they are not popular in my hometown) but wanted to let you know your options!

I think 28 is kind of middle-of-the-road for Wake Forest. So, while it wouldn’t hurt to send it in, it wouldn’t help, either.
