Chance me pls :)

Hey guys.
What do you think my chances are for these schools (Regular Decision)
=> Duke, UPenn, Cornell, Brown, UChicago, Johns Hopkins and Pomona College

Public school(California)
GPA: 4.28 (unweighted), 3.94 (weighted)
Rank: within top 10 (or 5) out of 800
SAT: 2200 (CR-630, Math-790, Writing-780)
I am actually considering to take the ACT and see if i can do better in the reading.

SAT II: Math IIC(800), Korean(800), US History (730), planning to take chem on october.

APs: AP Calc AB(5), AP calc BC(5), AP US history (4), AP World (4), AP Physics B (5), AP Environmental Science (4), AP Chem (2.... i know this is bad)

Extracurricular (just a few significant ones)
President of a service club, math club
a member of NHS
JV and Varsity Tennis
did a research under the UCLA professor.
1st place in the math competition (pretty well-known)
1st place in the regional tennis tournament
1st place in the clarinet concerto competition
a member of Young Arts Symphony
Local hospital volunteer (about 150 hours)

Definitely try the ACT, the CR score will be a big issue at these schools.

I say go for it; you never know unless you try!

Though do apply to some UCs, please.

alrite. but why not UCs?
I am thinking of applying to UC Berkeley, UCLA and UCSD.
If i write a great essay, do you guys think i have a decent shot at those schools?

I was in a very similar situation to you. The CR score will hurt you and it will probably hinder you from acceptances to most, if not all, these schools. If you can get 700+ on that, you will have a much better chance.

You will most likely get into all the UCs though.
