You should always apply to your dreams but I don’t believe you are close. Your test score - unless it comes way hope -is too low. You need to be 1500 on the SAT and in the top 5% of your class.

Even a school like Texas is a reach at this point.

Make sure you apply to safeties - schools like OU, Arkansas, or Arizona - great schools with nice merit - as fall backs.

Or in addition to Gtown (if you want to be in DC), American and GW, etc.

Good luck.

You have a shot at Georgetown…Qatar.

Their ave SAT score is 1260. Good luck!

its a 1450 lol

honestly, your chances are low. 1240 SAT and ~18th percentile in class is significantly below average for these types of schools. to bet at a point where scores/academics are not working against u, i would like to see 1500+ and top 5% or class. thus, ur chances on getting in rely on ECs and essays, both which need to be very strong. I can’t speak for ur essays, but ur ECs are not there yet. the only meaninful thing I take away from ur ECs and awards is that ur decent at art and choir. this is bad, as both of these things come from reading ur awards not ur ECs. class secretary is p much the only thing that could be reasonably related to polisci. u see you say ur school doesnt offer many ECs, but this mindset is the problem itself. you need to be looking outside ur school. your need ECs that make admissions officers ask themselves how u pulled that off, prom comitte and soccer manager does not elicit that response.

I said it’s Georgetown Qatar, not the one in DC. (Their AO told me personally that the ave SAT is 1260)

You can’t read or?

sorry my bad, didnt realize u were trying to be sarcastic and rude to the OP

Rude? How come?

sorry i must have misjudged ur intent. by referrinng to gtownn qatar using “…” it seemed as if u were being sarcastic as the OP is clearly inquiring abt gtown in DC. my bad.

The SAT score is far below the thresh hold for realistic consideration at these private schools. You have a good chance at Texas A&M. UT-Austin will be a reach, but not impossible. There’s plenty of other schools to consider, like U of H, Texas Tech, or even Texas State.
