Chance me: possible polisci/pr + strategic communication double major

HI! American is absolutely my dream school but I can’t apply ED given the financial aid implications. I am worried that I can’t get in because this school means so much to me! I know my grades aren’t great but I am super passionate so I’m hoping that will give me a leg up. I want to double major in political science and pr/strategic communication as of right now. I am a rising senior, so HS class of 2018. Let me know if I have a chance!!

Acted in one act plays through my school (probably acting and stage managing one next year), school’s spring play, hope for the homeless club (basically just volunteering at a homeless shelter…I’m running it next year), student council, tutor for AP seminar students, Unified Theater (leader for this as well next year), Nordsrom BP Board (terribly run but kind of a business learning experience)

I know my grades are pretty trash and it’s quite upsetting… finals really killed me this year. Prior to them I had an A- in Spanish, a B- in pre-calc, and a B+ in chem…ugh STILL SALTY. But whatever! Hopefully senior year I can get myself back on track and have a chance of getting in

I think you are in line with what they are looking for. Your SATs are fine but if you could get them up a little it would make you a stronger candidate. Definitely try to show a lot of interest and engage in the school as much as possible. I’m not sure if you will get a scholarship from the school if finances are an issue, but your grades are probably fine. Best of luck! I also think that i’m going to apply here.
