Chance me Princeton, Columbia, UPenn, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell, Rice, Emory, UCLA,

It’s not a bad thing that you’re thinking about college already, but please, don’t be so intense about it.

Also, “I just made up a bunch of test scores that I can totally achieve, no problem. Now tell me if they’re good enough for x, y and z?” is the wrong way to go about this.

I don’t want to be rude, but it’s unlikely that you’ll get your projected scores. Not because I doubt your intelligence or something, it’s just statistically unlikely and the SAT is a tricky thing; you can’t predict things like this. A lot of people do it on CC, but their predictions are often 100+ points off the mark.

So concentrate on your studies, or whatever you find worthwhile, and don’t start another chance thread until you actually have some real numbers to put in it.

There is a lot to be said about simply taking in the new experience of high school, let alone college. Why plan college so early? If someone daydreams about colleges all four years and then finally gets into college, what will they plan their life around next? Grad school? Of course, there is a place to think about your future, so take challenging courses and pursue extracurriculars you enjoy, so you will be prepared for college, but there is also a more important place to think about the present. Be happy now. Worry about college chances later because the truth is all of these places are competitive, and there is no way to accurately predict your chances for an admissions years from now.

It think it’s smart to chart out a path to aim for, but relaxing and enjoying high school is also a great idea.

On a brief side note, I find it funny that even though all the test scores are made up, for the Physics SAT II, it says “TBA” haha
