I've been asking around, but I'm really flustered on if I should apply or not.

My weighted GPA is a 4.074, and my unweighted one is a 4.0. My ACT score is a 27, though I'm planning on retaking it.

I've been through Honors English 9, 10, and 11 with AP Literature and Composition at the moment, I took alegrba in 8th grade and so have been a grade level higher than my peers and am now in AP Calculus AB, and i took and passed AP World History, though not high enough to receive credit.

I have 30+ hours of community service, memberships in the National Honor Society, Student Council, a Superintendent Board, and Drama Club. I'm also an editor in yearbook and im the Senior Class President.

Does this seem good enough?

And does anyone know what U of M's financial aid scholarships are? I'm also an in-state applicant

Oh, I also was the captain of my school’s quiz bowl team for 2 years, played softball for 1, bowled for 2, worked at my family’s farm a ton, did church volunteering, volunteered at my district’s elementary school, and have won writing contests.

I’m also a fabulous writer, (though my prose is sloppy here since I’m on my phone) and i can write a killer essay.

I was also accepted into the Who’s Who of America for mathematics. And for theatre, i received the Gypsy Robe after Grease this year, which is an award for overall excellence in acting and character.

My teachers and counselors would write me wonderful recommendations, too.

Do retake the ACT and try to get at least a 28 or 29…I think you have a good chance with the way you sit right now but a higher ACT would probably get you the acceptance letter. What is your class rank?

a friend of mine just got deferred with a 27 ACT and a uw gpa of 4.0 but i dont think he had as many EC as you did… but i would definitely try to get that up… I think you have a good chance! best of luck!

yes, but deferred does not mean that they will not get in later. Harvestmoon has strong grades and ecs. If he had a 26 or under I’d say his chances would go way down. I don’t think UM likes to admit too many with low ACT scores.

oh to answer your other questions…you should apply!!
UM meets 90% of need for instate students so money should not be too much of an issue for you. Best of Luck!!
