Hi,
I am an international student;
My SAT: 1440 (CR:390 M:660 R:390)
SAT Subject Tests: Math L2: 700, Physics:580)
TOEFL: 89
GPA: 68% (When converted to US system from my country’s system, it makes something between 2.5-3.0)
I have so many extracurricular activities that I couldn’t fit them on the space given by application system.
I made a research project with a good university in my country that I want to develop later when I start college.
I have an outstanding/extraordinary life story, which I believe I reflected pretty good on my personal statement.
What are my chances? (I want to major in Electrical Engineering)
UCI will be a Reach based on a below average GPA and SAT I score. You need to target schools where your stats are at or above the average especially for Engineering and none of the UC’s fit your stats at the moment. You need to bump up your CR scores or you will have a huge problem keeping up with all the reading and writing required in your college courses. You might want to consider a community college to work on your language skills and then transfer into a 4 year university.
Good Luck.
To be honest, your stats is relatively lower than what UCI may expect, but who knows, maybe your “outstanding life story” can be the key to get you in
Considering that you are applying to their college of engineering, your chance really depends on your outstanding/ extraordinary life story
