I'm currently a Freshman at Penn State and was thinking of transferring to NYU, or Baruch.
My major is International Relations, and if I went to NYU it would have to be Political Science, since the only IR option is an honors program.
GPA is currently 3.08/3.25...my professor last semester didn't add my final grade so after that's fixed it should be a 3.25
SATS: ...they were bad, but I was told they don't really weight too heavy on admissions since I'm already in the process of completing my first year
Extracurriculars- Member; THON Merch Committee, Student Government Association, Bringing Up Social Transformation, Political Science Club, Psych Club
Current Credits: 41 (12 transferred from AP class in HS)
Hooks?: First Gen. College Student/Latino, I won 1st place in the Martin Luther King Essay Contest this semester if that counts for anything, I'm a strong advocate for equality in human rights(writing about that in my essay)
I'm pretty involved but my GPA isn't too great.
This semester I'm sure I'll have all A's in my midterm sheet for the Common App...
I'm focusing my app essay on my interest in International Affairs, plans to study abroad in the Middle East, and how culture has always influenced me growing up in a very small town, and how Penn State isn't very diverse, and how NYC has way more opportunity and is basically the epitome of diversity, and etc.
I'd be applying to CAS, major in Political Science...

I feel like NYU may be a reach, but any other opinions?
