There is no financial aid at any of the UC’s for out of state or international students. Can your parents afford to pay $60,000/year?

@TomSrOfBoston yes my parents can:) Thanks for this reminder:)

Consider UCLA/UCB Reach schools but you do have a chance. UCSD is more likely if you can afford the costs. UC’s have capped OOS/International admissions so it will be even more competitive.

@Gumbymom thanks. But what aspect makes UCLA/B reach schools? Also for GPA I only weighted my AP classes…(I used that GPA calculator from Rogerhub:) )

As an OOS applicant, only your AP classes will be weighted by the UC’s.

Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19:

UCB: 14%
UCLA: 14%
UCSD: 44%
UCSB: 54%
UCD: 58%
UCI: 65%
UCSC: 85%
UCR: 94%
UCM: 96%

What makes them Reach schools:

  1. Low acceptance rate and statistical GPA data
  2. High # of qualified applicants - UCLA is the most applied school in the country
  3. Cap on OOS admissions
  4. Costs as an OOS applicant.

@Gumbymom i see… thank you very much for the stats:)

@Gumbymom So UCs will not consider the honor courses I took in school at all?

No, only AP/IB or DE courses are weighted for OOS applicants in the GPA. They will still note you took challenging courses in HS.

@Gumbymom get it haha;). Thank you very much for the help:)
