Hey guys! I'm a current high school junior with a:
3.8 UW 4.2 W GPA
2110 SAT Composite (700 CR 700 M 710 W)
Excellent ECs- President of a couple large clubs, four years varsity track (Though not good enough to run D1)
I expect my essays to be good, but nothing extraordinary

I was wondering what my chances were of getting into:
UCLA / UCB
UCSB / UCD
UPENN
DUKE
USC
UVA
MICHIGAN
UNC
I also need some suggestions about a decent safety school, any input is appreciated!

If you’re instate, then the other UCs would be good choices for safeties.
UCLA/UCB/UVA: High Match
UCSB, UCD, USC, Michigan, UNC: Match
UPENN, Duke: Reach

Your UW GPA is about average for Michigan. Michigan, Virginia and UNC are very competitive for OOS applicants, so I’d have to put then into the reach category along with Penn & Duke. The same would hold true for UCLA & UCB if you’re OOS for California.

You seem like a great candidate! I think you have an excellent chance. It certainly wouldn’t hurt to retake the SAT since you have time to spare and see if you can bump up any of those past 750, that would really give you an edge. But not if you don’t feel like it–you’re in great shape!

Maybe you’d like the University of Washington? It’s really good as far as public schools go, and it’s a big state school which you seem to like, although the weather leaves something to be desired…

I was considering University of Washington, but I had crossed it off my list because I felt that if I got into UW, I would get into UCSB, but with the unpredictability of admissions, it might be time to reconsider.

Lol, you shouldn’t even be worried. You’ll probably get into whatever college you want. Good safety schools would probably be state schools wherever you live.

I promised you I’d chance you back, so here it is.

UCLA: High match. To make it a match, you’d want to get your SATs up to around 2200 if at all possible (but that’s not to say if you don’t, you won’t get in).
UCB: Very high match. Same thing with the SAT score; try to take the hardest courses available next year to show that you’re serious about working ALL throughout high school (and college for that matter).
UCSB: Match.
UCD: Match.
USC: High match… it’s getting hard to get into.
Duke: High match. I wouldn’t consider it quite a reach.
UPENN: Reach-High reach. The main thing about this is the SAT score… I would need more information regarding a possible SAT II score?
UNC, Michigan, and UVA are all matches… maybe ever so slightly low matches. I say this because they are notoriously based on statistics; and statistically speaking, you outdo the bell curve of students.

You look really good for most of these schools! Penn and Duke are probably reaches but you have a good chance at the others. Thanks for chancing me!

A match is a school where you have a very good chance of getting in, you’re well qualified and usually around or above the 75th percentile of applicants.

A high match is a school where you still have a good chance, but less so. The school admits many applicants similar to you, but many better as well. It is closer to the “reach” category.

A reach school is one where you may get in, but it is unlikely.

A high reach is one where you’re below or around the 25th percentile of applicants.

I think UCLA, Cal, and UVA are all very realistic options for you. Admissions are unpredictable, but you never know. As far as a safety, any UC school below UCLA would likely accept you.
