Do you believe I have a chance?

I am halfway through my senior year, so I have already sent out all of my applications.

I have applied to:

  1. University of Washington (Seattle)
  2. University of Oregon
  3. UCSB
  4. UCSD
  5. UCI
  6. UCD
  7. UCLA
  8. Cal
  9. Cal poly SLO
  10. Cal poly Pomona
  11. CSULB
  12. CSUSJ
  13. USC

Here are all of my stats/extracurriculars.

Weighted gpa: 3.9
Unweighted gpa: 3.5

SAT: 1930
SAT Math 2: 760
SAT Chemistry: 760

Varsity surf team ( one year )
50 community service hours
300+ work hours ( tutoring )

AP Courses:
Calculus AB: 5
Calculus BC: TBD
Chemistry: 5
Physics: TBD
Computer Science: 3
European History: 4
U.S. History: 4

Honors courses:
Chemistry
Biology

I believe that my personal statements are unique and better than average.

I know that I am not getting into UCLA, Cal, or USC. And I am not really worried about my safety schools ( CSULB, Pomona, and San Jose State), but I am worried about the others. I know that my gpa is fairly low, but I took very rigorous courses. I hope that my target schools( UW, UCSB, Cal poly Slo, and UCI) recognize my full schedule and maybe overlook my disappointing gpa. Do you guys think this is the case? Thank you so much for your time.

Assuming you are a full pay student:
U of Oregon: safety
UW: match
UCI/UCD: high matches
UCSB: match

What classes did you take?

What is your intended major? That will make a difference in your chances.

Thank you so much, that helps a lot. Do you mean during senior year?

Primary: chemical engineering
Alternate: undeclared.

For the colleges that didn’t allow an alternate major, I applied as undeclared/chemistry.

U of Oregon: Match
UW: High Match
UCSB: High Match (you will get in for Undeclared not Chem Engineering)
UCI/UCD: Low Reach
UCLA/UCB/USC: Reach
SLO: High Match (Chemistry)

what was your SAT breakdown ?

Math: 700
Critical Reading: 630
Writing:600

you have the best breakdown with that score in my opinion. Your SAT II’s are very good as well, you have a good shot at some UC’s. If you are full pay then i believe you’ll get into one UC at least between irvine, dais and SB

UoW: low reach
UofO: match
UCSB: low reach
UCLA/UCB/USC: high reach (these schools are very impacted in your major)
CSUs: low match.
Poly: I’m honestly not familiar enough.

So I don’t feel that confident about my post as 1) I’m not very familiar with tech and science programs (I’m a social science person) 2) although you have a really great course load, you didn’t day much about Extracurriculars. Sorry If I wasn’t incredibly helpful.

If you could chance me back, that’d be great.
