Come on, SimonPhase, clearly you understand the psychological impetus to post a thread like this.

Haha moodkiller? I’m sorry I live in the real world and understand there are no experts on this board. You shouldn’t need other people to give their opinions, this is a thread saying “Oh hey, my GPA is really high and I’m pretty good at everything, I’m getting in right?” Its a thread to gloat and doesn’t give anything to the board. I understand you are worried but just wait and don’t bother posting your stats to bring down everyone else who probably won’t be making it into UCLA.

dude you need to calm down. if she wants people to chance her, let her.

btw, op, i will bet my left testicle that you are in.

Hey Simon it’s not that serious haha don’t have a heart attack, hmmm is it that time of the month again?

Beowulf710
thanks 4 the input :)

This time 2 years ago, my S was invited to apply for the Regents Scholarship at UCLA as well, also as a transfer student. Unless policies have changed, it means you’re in
I encourage you to apply for the scholarship, and make sure you get everything in before the deadline…as I recall, you don’t have a whole lot of time. Put a lot of thought into your essay, and the reference letter.
Good luck!

@socalmom

thanks! Yea I hope regents is a good sign. if you can recall, What were your sons stats? And is he/did he enjoy ucla?

He had a 4.0 at the time he applied, but got 1 B fall semester. Sorry, don’t remember what the final GPA was…3.9? He did not get the Regents, so he’s at UCSD which was his 1st choice. Did you apply for transfer to any other UCs?

@socalmom
that’s the same as me. 4.0 when I applied but one stupid B last fall. So maybe regents is a no for me too.
I got into UCR even though I did not apply but I only applied to UCLA and some other private schools.

Suhweeet, hahah. Whadaya play?

Now it’s a matter of me getting in… Crossing fingers ahaha.

@SimonPhase, it’s an annoying CC tradition, you can rant all you want but it’s something here to stay.

@edelynly
middle hitter you??
And good luck! We’ll both keep our fingers crossed.

It’s hard to know what exactly they’re looking for, but I think the decision is based on a lot more than just the GPA. I really would encourage you to apply for it. And regardless of whether or not you get the scholarship, being asked to apply for it is still a good indicator that you’re in!

@socalmom
sweet! I am going to apply for it for sure! :)

Good luck! And make sure you post and let us all know when you get that acceptance :)
