Hey guys, I have already posted a thread asking for you guys to chance me, but that was a while ago and my grades have changed a bit, here are my stats....

Major: Political Science
GPA: 3.93
Major GPA: 4.0
IGETC: Will be completed by Spring
Major Pre-Requisites: Will be completed by February (taking a 6 week polisci course during a winter quarter online).
0 W's
No TAP or TAG
Essays should be good (8/10 ish)
Extracurriculars are decent (not really major related, but lots of volunteer and work experience).

Now in regards to major requirements, there are 6, but my school (a CCC) only offers 3, and there are no CCC's close enough to me that offer any of them (still looking online). Assist says that for polisci (at UCLA) " At minimum, you should complete three preparatory
courses by the spring term prior to transfer." I stated in the additional comments on the UC app that I would try my best to find the remaining major prereqs at other CCC's. Do you think not completing more of the major prereqs will hurt my chances? I know GPA wise I am in a good position, but I am still a bit concerned about not being able to complete all the major prereqs.

I would really appreciate feedback. I will chance back if you post your stats on this thread. Thank you :)

Oh and one last thing, does anyone know how hard it is to try and add a double major (like Bizecon at UCLA) that is impacted? I will have all the major pre-reqs for bizecon done by summer, so do you think I'll have a shot at adding if my GPA stays the same or improves?

I think you’re in good shape. However, did you say that you wouldn’t be able to complete the minimum three requirements for UCLA by the end of spring 2014?

Best of luck to both of us! Lol - I’m also a PoliSci major and applied to those schools.

No I will complete that 3rd pre req by february, I am just worried about possibly not being able to complete the other 3… And thanks good luck to you too!

Have u contacted a UCLA rep? Ur GPA is great. The average admitted is a little over 3.7 I believe… However not completing all pre reqs might be a problem. The UCLA rep for my cc always made a big deal about not only taking all pre reqs but also taking extra.

I think if u email a UCLA rep they can help you find a cc near you that offers the pre req. At least the one I’ve spoken to offered to do this.

Can someone please chance me as well. I’ve posted on here and have yet to receive answers. I messed up and got a D my second semester and the next semester came and I didn’t do so hot but my GPA is 2.8 and i’m majoring in Clinical Nutrition hoping to get accepted into UC Davis. Someone PLEASE give me hope lol

The UC’s shouldn’t hold it against you if your JC doesn’t offer the courses. Your GPA is great so I think you’ve got a great shot at all schools.

So, I’m assuming the course you’re taking over Winter is the 3rd and final pre-req your JC offers? If this is the case, you should try to find out how/if you can get that grade entered in since it seems as though you’ll receive your grade after the Jan update.
