That GPA and your projected test scores looks like you’ll get a nice amount of merit aid. I think you have a great chance of getting in! You’re a solid applicant and UMiami relies on students with your stats to keep it the competitive school that it is.

Chance me please? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1525710-bowdoin-chances.html#post16144382</a></p>

tyty! Chanced you back.

Match. Will probably get at least some merit aid, especially if you get your SAT scores up.

Chance me back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1524667-chance-me-georgetown-sfs-stanford-other-schools-please.html</a></p>

ty, chanced.

GTown is my #1 as well, but you are way more qualified than I am for it. My dad has a very high ranking position there so him trying to pull some strings is my only chance… unless I destroy the SAT next time. It’s an amazing school.

Good luck!

Anybody have input on…

USC, UVA, UNC, Maryland in state?

Bump10char

Definitely a good match, you’d do we’ll to apply to some MD schools too (but they’re a bit more competitive)

Chance me/rec schools? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1525521-chance-me-upenn-columbia-barnard-etc-ill-chance-back.html</a></p>

Got you back.

I’ll be applying to GTown and hope my dad can help me out at all. I mean he’s had dinner with the president twice this year. I’ll apply to JHU. (why not) Maryland College Park should be a safety. I’ll apply to UVA.

a 1990 sat score is one of the best scores in the nation. it is a top percentile score! You will get into any college if you apply there. all you need to do is focus more on the clubs since you have all the grades/test scores. BTW, the 5 on ap bio is going to help you so much in admissions because only 5% in the nation got that score. it means you are in the top echelon of students in America. Congrats! You are too smart, no need to raise up any more scores, focus more on ec’s. in the end, those ec’s will decide your admissions because you already have scores that the colleges will probably accept.

Bump10char

USC: match
UVA, UNC OOS: reach
Maryland in state: don’t know a tremendous amount about Maryland, but I would say low match/safety

Good luck to you as well! Keep us updated, I would love to see how other Georgetown hopefuls do. Get that SAT up a bit and I’m sure with the connections it sounds like your dad has that you have an excellent chance. I hope we all get good news come mid-December. :)

Thanks! I’m not sure how/if it will work out, but he will try. He has until January to figure it all out and I can take the SAT two more times before I take the subjects and apply. If I only raised it 100 points I would be right around the median for business.

I can always try to go there for grad school if I have to go to Miami or somewhere else for undergrad. (Unless I don’t wanna leave!) GTown is a great grad school for law, medicine, business, and even dentistry to name a few.

My dad wants me to stay relatively close but I would be a fool not to consider USC if admitted. Hope I improve so UVA can be an option. I would only seriously consider Maryland with a near full scholarship, I don’t like big public schools.

Well I hope it works out for you. I have visited and am applying to Miami, UVA, and Georgetown; Miami is more to appease my parents because my sister got a full ride there (good school, just not the one for me), but UVA and Georgetown are legitimate interests. I absolutely loved Georgetown when I visited and the SFS is perfect for me. Let’s just hope Georgetown thinks I’m perfect for it! Both UVA and Georgetown have such lovely campuses too that it’s hard not to love them. I feel the same way about state schools - once you get over 15,000 I become very wary, and I would really prefer under 10,000 students.

You’ll get into Miami, don’t worry about that. It’s a safety… maybe a low match if you start to dip during senior year, which I don’t see you doing. Get your SATs to a 2100 and you’re a dead lock.

In terms of financial aid, however, it gets a little tricky because you’re around the 75th percentile of students Miami admits. If you got your SAT up to 2100, then I’d say you’re a stellar candidate for merit aid. As you are, you’ll probably get some money ($7,500-10,000), but if you want to reach for the larger sums of money, the test scores will get you there.

Congratulations on your work, and I hope you achieve lots of good things out of UMiami. It’s a great place, well deserving of your intellect and talent.

Miami seems like a low-match/safety at worst, and you probably qualify for some type of merit aid, while a full scholarship might be a little bit of a stretch.

USC might be a little of a stretch, but it shouldn’t be much worse than a match/high match, so anywhere from 40-65% admission chance, I’d guess.

Some of the out of state ones like UNC might be a little tough

Getting into the U shouldn’t be a problem at all. Grades are there and SAT is in the solid range of acceptance.

-Georgetown shouldn’t be a problem if your dad really does know the president.
-USC Should be a solid match
-UVA relatively tough if you’re not a Virginia resident

 • JHU would be a reach with that SAT score

Thanks!

^doing you now, my dad is the VP of Facilities, Design, and Innovation at GTown. He just got the job this year and the President is so excited for him and his team to turn it around there. My dad is a CFM and PE certified engineer with an excellent record. He has made it clear to the President that I want to go there, so I’d be blessed to get in. I don’t know though, he hasn’t told me that it will happen.

Can I get a chance for Wake Forest anyone?

I would say Wake is a match.
