hey seems like you’ve got a pretty good shot! those extracurriculars are really strong, your gpa is pretty good as well imo and that rec letter is a great boost. though it’s rumored that they show preference toward people who have more credits, i think your EC’s will more than make up for it. all you need are strong essays and you’re good to go! good luck on the application
sorry for being super late, but i also applied for fall 2022 as a freshman and i literally only found out why they rejected me it turns out they stopped taking in freshmen transfers LOL
under step 2 it says that:
“Competitive transfer candidates typically have two or more semesters of transferable graded college coursework at the time of application. This means that students applying to transfer in the winter semester of their first year after high school will not be admitted, except under extraordinary circumstances such as having been admitted as a first year applicant.”
i hope this takes away some of your stress!!! good luck and go blue
Reread the link above. But… It’s always better to transfer going into your junior year. This way they don’t look at your high school grades etc. It’s much tougher transferring before that time.
Hey Guys, I just submitted the application last week and all my documents are here right now, I’m applying to LSA as CS but I guess it’s undeclared for all LSA applicant, I’m from a top40 private school and my gpa is 3.72, I have 42 credit first year and 16 IP, so 58 total, I just would like to see if there’s any chance I could get accepted and if anyone know when will they probably release the decision since Michigan is kind of rolling admission?
Hi! Seems like you are on the right track. As a student at Michigan, you have very good credentials. Personally, I love how you have Letter’s of Recommendations from multiple sources. I think that will help you a lot. In addition, your GPA looks high which is always a plus. Lastly, I love all your extracurriculars. Being involved in clubs is essential! think you have a really good chance! I’m here if you have any more questions.
