Chance Me UMich LSA Winter 2023 Transfer

Umich LSA Winter 2023 Transfer

I am a rising sophomore at another university in Michigan. I got denied admission to LSA for Fall of 2022 Admission and I am planning on applying again for LSA admission for Winter 2023.

STATS:

High School GPA: 3.6(Five AP Courses)

First Semester of University: 3.82, 3 A’S and one B+

Second Semester of University: 3.72

Cumulative GPA: 3.765

No SAT/ACT

Letter’s of Rec: 1 from Notable Professor, Ross Alumni, and managing director(boss) for internship

College Extracurriculars: Founder and President of Finance Club(45 members) at my school and founder of another club. Also, member of 2 other clubs.

Some High School Extracurriculars: President of Investment Club, basketball, Boy Scouts of America, and more.

Other: Venture capital summer analyst this summer(as a freshman)

30 credits first year and plan on taking 16 fall 2022 semester so will be transferring with 46 credits

hey seems like you’ve got a pretty good shot! those extracurriculars are really strong, your gpa is pretty good as well imo and that rec letter is a great boost. though it’s rumored that they show preference toward people who have more credits, i think your EC’s will more than make up for it. all you need are strong essays and you’re good to go! good luck on the application :+1:

thanks!

Were you told to “update term” when you were denied. Or did you just get the standard rejection letter?

Does your rejection letter have update information or just a standard rejection letter?

update term

It was the update term one.

sorry for being super late, but i also applied for fall 2022 as a freshman and i literally only found out why they rejected me :sob::sob: it turns out they stopped taking in freshmen transfers LOL

under step 2 it says that:
“Competitive transfer candidates typically have two or more semesters of transferable graded college coursework at the time of application. This means that students applying to transfer in the winter semester of their first year after high school will not be admitted, except under extraordinary circumstances such as having been admitted as a first year applicant.”

i hope this takes away some of your stress!!! good luck and go blue :crossed_fingers:

wait so if I decide to transfer to UMICH as a freshman for fall 2023, I won’t get in?

Reread the link above. But… It’s always better to transfer going into your junior year. This way they don’t look at your high school grades etc. It’s much tougher transferring before that time.

Hey Guys, I just submitted the application last week and all my documents are here right now, I’m applying to LSA as CS but I guess it’s undeclared for all LSA applicant, I’m from a top40 private school and my gpa is 3.72, I have 42 credit first year and 16 IP, so 58 total, I just would like to see if there’s any chance I could get accepted and if anyone know when will they probably release the decision since Michigan is kind of rolling admission?

Contact them to see if all your credits transfer as they are very picky on math and science.

Hi, Thank you but for now, I’m still waiting on the decision.

Any New Guys?

Hi! Seems like you are on the right track. As a student at Michigan, you have very good credentials. Personally, I love how you have Letter’s of Recommendations from multiple sources. I think that will help you a lot. In addition, your GPA looks high which is always a plus. Lastly, I love all your extracurriculars. Being involved in clubs is essential! think you have a really good chance! I’m here if you have any more questions.

Hi, I know this is not really related but if you know when will they start to send out decisions?

Decision should be released by latest Janurary!

the thing is this is winter so the semester start early Jan
