Your GPA and test score are both at the 75th percentile of UMICH, it should be a low reach with chance higher than the overall OOS admission rate.

You have a great shot at all the schools with the exception of Carnegie Mellon, and the Ivies. Most Ivies compare students on a regional level. So if you are saying that 212 students outperformed you in the county, that’s not terribly good news for you. Is this county ranking printed anywhere? If not, do not mention it. I would also like to to see more student organization leadership/involvement. Whatever you do, just be sure that your essays are amazing and exude passion if you are to have a real chance at the Ivies. - Admissions Track

Thank you guys

Bump

Your school doesn’t publish stand-alone rank or percentile within your class? How did you come up with 212/14000 if that’s the case? Do you have any idea how far off you are from being valedictorian at least?

One of our reports gives our rank in the entire county but not class. Out of my entire class in school I’m sure I’m probably about 11-14 in rank from #1. A lot of people minimize their rigor at my school but take easy dual enrollment classes to boost their rank like Human Resources and anthropology lol. I didn’t take any though I just double scienced in IB instead and only 6 more kids besides me take my math class.

@HarisH4 Got it, that makes sense. I would say H, M, P will be reaches based on your scores.

JHU-High Match
Georgiatech-High Match
Carnegie Mellon-Reach
UMichigan-High Match/Low Reach
University of Florida-Low Match
University of Texas (Austin)-Safety
RICE-Match
Princeton-High Reach
MIT-High Reach
Harvard-High Reach

Chance me back!!

Your state of residency will have a strong impact on your chances of admission to UMich and GTech. Both those schools are increasingly tough admits for out-of-state residents.

Rice would fall in the reach rather than match category.
