I believe you have a high chance for admissions because something that really stands out about you is that you represent the phrase “non sibi”(not for self) and schools in general usually admit those students in the first round.

thank you so much!! lol you gave me so much hope because I’m panicking sm!

I would also recommend you reach out to Dr. Folami Ideraabdullah and build a great relationship with her because she could put in a good word for you and make you more desirable.

that sounds like a really good idea, do you have any suggestions on how to approach/reach out to her?

I would particularly her these questions. As for approaching I would just introduce yourself and the high school you attend or attended. Furthermore I would state i’m an applicant and express that you are deeply interested in her line of work. Finally, I would compliment her either as inspirational or a project she has completed that you have found intriguing.

If you had to describe your job in 5 words or less what would it be and why?

Who Influenced you?

What is one lesson you hope your students takeaway?

How would you describe your students?

Congratulations on your achievements.

It’s too late to be contacting a prof and take the time to build a relationship such that they would be able to impact your admissions decision.

I can’t chance you, but if your school uses Naviance or Scoir, that should help your understand your likelihood of admission.

Have you been accepted elsewhere yet? Have you applied to at least one affordable safety?

Yes, I have gotten into NCSU, App State, UNCC, University of South Carolina, and Clemson (all the schools I have applied to thus far), but my heart is really set on UNC though so I’m hoping I get in.

prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Don’t be upset if you are denied it’s not you that signed the rejection it’s you just didn’t fit the school profile.

Definitely! You have all the things they are looking for. My son got in with similar stats, and he was OOS, which is even more difficult. Good luck and Go Heels!
