My son applied a month or two (sometime late last summer) before I sent his transcript. We were a homeschooling family so I was the de facto guidance counselor.
You will get your UA email almost right away which is very cool!

No, but he went all the way down to the wire with UA. He ended up going to UF which is in-state for us. It’s a long story, and it was a very tough decision.
We still love UA, unless they’re playing UF. 
Applied yesterday, now waiting for mybama info to sign in and check application status. Wont be able to send transcript until school starts back up again. So excited!
