Chance Me University of Florida!

Hi I am a Cali resident. I go to a private school and I have a 3.4 UW. I got nearly all A’s my junior year and am expecting to do the same my senior. I am very anxious because I got a 3.0 my sophomore and freshman years due to issues with family (will explain in common app) I am still in the process of taking the SAT but am expecting between a 1300-1400 (nothing lower)
I have been a veterinary assistant for almost 2 years, and I work at the LA zoo. I am the president of a school club, and a member of two others. I also own a non profit foundation which is established and certified.
Chance me please!

Can you take a lot of AP, IB, etc. classes your Senior year? Your Junior year will be the GPA UF will be based on. UF also only considers your core classes - English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language. I would also shoot for the 1400 SAT. Lastly, you need to convey a passion. Is there consistent activity? You have 100+ volunteer hours some place? You have time to build those hours even more.

I hav 500+ service hours and a clear interest as a vet major with working at a vet, the zoo, and my non-profit. Next year I will be taking 5 AP but will it matter as if it my senior year?

You have to put your Senior year courses (pending grades) on the SSAR. Yes, it matters. You need to show rigor your Sr. year. The other thing you want is an essay that stands out. Have an very interesting beginning - tell a story - don’t just give information. Quirky is good. Re: SAT - I highly suggest doing some practice tests. You can easily find them online. Also I love a free blog called College Panda - gives great tips and tricks. Keep us posted!

Thank you so much.
