Chance Me: University of Michigan - Ann Arbor

I am currently a senior in high school and my dream school is Michigan. I was wondering what my chances are with my credentials. Keep in mind I am applying out-of-state.

GPA: 4.95 out of 6.0
SAT: 1810 combined (Reading: 550, Writing: 640 - 12/12 on the essay, Math: 620)
APs: Will have taken 6 by the end of my senior year. Took 2 AP tests last May (US History: 4, English literature: 4)
Essay: I wrote my essay about Ben Carson (U of M grad) and I put A LOT of time into it, had it graded like crazy
Extracurriculars: I have a bunch but the most impressive is my 400+ hours spent shadowing surgeons over the past 4 years. I am also active in the muslim community and founded a youth basketball league to develop leadership qualities. I can also speak 3 languages fluently, was active in UNICEF, our local french club, and played for a national powerhouse AAU basketball team

Please be harsh, I need to hear the truth, no matter how much it'll kill me LOL

Oh and I want to study Biology

Bump…,…

Bump…

Reach for OOS…
A. you are OOS
B. GPA is low (3.3/4)
C. SAT is on low end of Admissions
D. Decent ECs but no real leadership

Will the essays I submit make a big enough difference to get me in?

Bump…

They could help tilt the scale a LITTLE, but they would have to be mind boggling essays to overcome a 3.3 and the ECs

Reach… what’s your safety?

My safety is michigan state an I already got in. I’m waiting on penn state (major legacy there) and Michigan

Bump…

Bring your SAT’s to about high 2200’s/ low 2300’s and your okay. 2350+ would be better.
