Chance Me...University of Virginia, Duke, Northwestern, Cornell

Top of my list is University of Virginia. UVa is required to accept 2/3 in state. So I really don't know how my scores compare to out-of-state acceptances.

Unweighted: 3.88
Weighted: 4.56

ACT 31

SAT subject tests 770, 710

15 Honors
11 APs

Ascending strength of schedule
School Profile: Top 100 school

NHS (Treasurer)
MUN
Soccer
Job 20 hours/week
Community Service
hospital volunteer
summer trips to Costa Rica working in impovershed areas

you didnt say what your sat subjects were in

Sorry Destroyer

SAT subject tests:
Math 2 770
Physics 710

I’m female too…if that makes a difference.

Right now my priority list looks like:
UVa
Duke
Northwestern
Cornell
Vanderbilt

I have safety schools too, but don’t want to go to any of them! So I’m a little freaked out about my chances. I feel boarderline at best. Seems like my scores are good/great, but not off the charts. I’ve got some good ECs, strength of schedule, and I hold down a job. Thinking it will come down to essays…which is scary, since it’s not my strongest subject. Wow.

UVa is really my top pick right now. But the fact that I’m OOS, worries me.

THANKS!

Your scores are somewhat low for all those universities, but your gpa is high. So it balances out. As long as your essays are k,

UVA- reach
Duke- reach
Northwestern- reach
Cornell- low reach
Vandy- high match/ low reach

Thanks JengaJenga…

Your response is what I was afraid of. If these universities would “superscore” my ACT, I would have a Composite 33. I had a hunch the 31 was low for these schools…but you can’t twist my harm hard enough to make me stop wanting to go there either.

MY GPA will rise slightly after 1st semester senior year. I will get As in all my APs (Econ, Gov, Physics C, *Stat, Lang).

*Already aced Calc AP BC junior year.

Anyone else have any insight on my situation?
