bumpbumpbump

bumpbumpbumpbump

Just some comments on your app… I may seem rude, but it is honest

-GPA is fine
-ACT score hurts you. 32 is the lucky number for foot in at any school.
-Colleges don’t care about how many high school credits you have…
-I have never seen so many resume fillers as an upperclassman. Did nobody tell you that you don’t impress colleges by joining random clubs? Holy ****.
-I hope you have more honors/awards than that. Every person applying to these schools will have been in NHS…

No actually I really appreciate it! I don’t need people to be lying to me to make me feel better! At least now I can work on my application!
And about the Clubs, I actually take part in all of them and participate in all the activities.

Here is a paragraph I give people who need focus with their clubs. Just remember there is a way to make one; you may just need to reorganize things and look at them through a difference lens.

"You need focus. What do I mean by focus? Focus is something that much of your ECs revolved around, and something that you were successful at. Most importantly however, focus is what college admissions think you will bring to the college. Now your focus doesn’t have to be unique; mine is mathematics research and engineering. Of course I backed this up (Siemens comp participant, submitted paper to journal, presentation at a conference at a college, tutor in engineering teams at elementary schools (engineering tutor of the state 2x), and competing at an international college engineering competition.

Of course yours doesn’t need to be this extensive, but you need to tell colleges why they want you to come to the school. Once you find your focus, write your R

But the problem is that I have already sent most of my applications and resumes; do you think that this is going to hurt me?
I really appreciate your help by the way :)

bumpbumpbump

anyone else? :)

ACT will hurt you, definitely 28 is on the low end for a UC. And another note, just joining clubs won’t help your app at all. As I like to put it, a president of 10 various clubs is at a disadvantage to a president of 1 or 2 clubs. Why? For the same reason as wallrus said. A president of 10 various random clubs is showing that he has no focus, and way too many interests. Colleges want to see commitment to a certain topic. In my example, Biology. That is why I took part in lots of biology clubs in school in freshman year and narrowed down to 3 clubs I really enjoyed. Also, the EC’s will be strong, but only if they relate to the intended major. For example, you can’t rely on all EC’s in the art field if you expect to major in bio. It has to correlate, otherwise it is pretty much trivial. Back to clubs, just joining them won’t help. If you want them to count, you have to be active, take up leadership in them.

Good luck! Chance back if you can http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1411008-chance-jhu-ed-others.html

USC: Reach
UCLA: Low reach (high match if you’re capable of paying full freight)
UCI: Match
UT Austin: Match

What is MU?
