Chance me UT Arlington?

GPA- 3.7
SAT-1970 (780 Reading, 650 Math)
Class Rank- 160/460 (35%)
Extracurriculars- none, however I did mention in the application I had obligations to take care of a special needs sibling who had to be watched after school.

I took AP courses in all classes available besides math, but I think I paid for it in the end. I also did not take easy electives, so it is a bit frustrating that students who shot for the easiest classes possible are ahead.

UT-Arlington: Low match (dearth of ECs could hurt you)

A 1970 is very good for UTA, I’ve seen people with a much worse profile that you get in. UTA is a safety, but jesus, what school do you go to where a 3.7 is top 35%? How many AP’s did you take?

You will get in

Unless 3.7 is weighted and ranks are computed with weighted GPAs…

I’m pretty sure it is weighted…

:(

So, with the fact my GPA is weighted, are my chances much lower?

That depends on how much lower your unweighted GPA is. If you have around a 3.5 I really can’t see you getting rejected.

No, since you took more rigorous coursework.
