Alright so I a freshmen and well... ya the experience here is kinda of a downer... ALOT worse then i expected. Know one is here (everyone commutes) and just hot. Anyway I love Irvine and the academics UCI offers.
I applied and was rejected before do to not taking AP's.

OK High School Record.
Straight A student senoir year
took alot of honors courses (physics being credited as AP)
GPA 3.8 or 3.65 unweighted

A ton of volunteer hours, included being officers (sows leadership) sports,
work experience for two years. I cover everything really top 11% of class.

Took a community college course over summer got an A so I guess I recieve English AP credit.

So should I apply? I know they will look at my high school records more so my SAT was about 1590 should I increase it?

All in all should I just wait till junior year or give it a shot?

I do not think UC’s accept soph transfers. because the requirement is 90 quater units . I know that most of the privates and other states’ public schools do .

Could you mention some of the other things you don’t like about UCR. Pro’s and con’s are appreciated.
I was thinking of transferring to UCR from community college. I’ll major in poli sci. With my 3.5 gpa, I do not think I will get into upper tier uc’s.

what you can try do is de enroll from uci go to a cc apply as lower division transfer were they will mainly use your highschool stats for admission. Maybe talk to a academic advisor about this plan.

My best friend transfered from UCR to UCI a few years ago. What you need to do is talk to someone in admissions and develope a relationship so they can help you. If you apply on your own I doubt you’ll get in. You need some inside help. My friend said it was hard, but he was able to do it.
