<p>Hey, so I was wondering if I should even consider applying to HYP and similar institutions. I'd really love to go to one, but I don't have a lot of money to burn on applications. Also, I think my extra-curriculars might be too weak to stack up against the competition.
Stats:
4.2 GPA
SAT: 790/790/800 (math,reading,writing) single sitting
SAT 2s: 800 spanish/770 USH/800 Math 2/740 French/800 Hebrew/760 Chinese
TOEFL 119</p>

<p>Fluent in conversational Hebrew, Yiddish,, English, and Chinese (mandarin)</p>

<p>Junior Olympian Bronze Medalist (400' meter relay)</p>

<p>Captain track and field team (3rd in NV)</p>

<p>I'm going to be a congressional page for Rand Paul this summer. Summer before freshman year I raised 32,000 for a local food shelter where I volunteer 15 hours/week. </p>

<p>L’Chaim! Well, you are very impressive. There’s a lot of congressional pages on this forum but none who are also heavily involved with sports. Enjoy spending time with the Tea Party but no scandals please! Anthony Weiner has already went past my scandal-tolerance for each year. </p>

<p>50/50? Did you not read the hooks? HYP would be drooling over a kid like this. Assuming the OP doesn’t blow the essays (and isn’t a ■■■■■), he/she is probably in with likelies everywhere.</p>

<p>You are amazing … You have put yourself in the highest possible position (can’t get much better than your accomplishments and stats). Personally I think the admissions officer will be drooling over you … but these schools are notorious for rejecting very qualified individuals. But overall my predication is that you get into two of these schools (HYP is all about luck, once you get to a certain level of applicants) and wait-listed from the other (its all chance). But good luck you are amazing and you definetly should apply!</p>
