Chance Me!

Here are my stats:

IGCSE: 5A*s 3A's
A Level: (Predicted) 3As 1B
Weak ECs
International Applicant
Financial Aid Needed
SAT: 2250
SAT II- Math Level II: 750
Physics: 750
Major: Economics.

You need to put your ecs, and more info that you will be putting on the application for anyone to reply.

G.P.A: 3.75ish
Soccer 8+years
Cricket 8
Other ECs: Pathetic :D

110 (I know we don’t know each other, but may I call you 110?):

I’m going to be very honest with you (and most others who have chance me threads).

STATISTICALLY – a 3.75 (unweighted??) with a 2250 SAT puts you in the group of students from which NU chooses the bulk of its freshman class. The GPA is perhaps a tad below average but the SAT is perhaps a tad above average. Neither will disqualify you and neither will blow anyone away.Having two activities with 8+ years of participation shows dedication and probably works in your favor.

Overall, many students with stats similar to yours will be accepted and (consider that NU’s overall acceptance rate is 15%+/-) many will be rejected.

If NU interests you I would definately encourage you to apply.

Haha sure! And yeah, the gpa is unweighted. Thanks a lot for the encouragement man! :)

@zephyr15 I think you missed the part where the op says that they are an international student applying for fin aid. To be honest I think you have a very low chance. Applying for financial aid will significantly lower your chances as well. I also applied as an international student and saw many others not get in with much better school stats and ECs. Best of luck with your application.

^ Much agreed.

Frankly, your application looks competitive. But as an international applicant applying WITH financial aid, you should know that your standards are much much higher and most colleges will straight up say that they look at it separate from both the US Citizens and Internationals without financial aid.
That’s something you should know before going into this.

littleindia – I did recognize that OP was an international student and needed financial aid.

Though I don’t have data, with those stats I would recommend any student to apply. Yes it might not work out, or OP might be an admit/deny (admitted to NU but denied the financial aid need to come). However not applying insures that it will not happen.

I stick with my original advice.
