<p>I am a student who comes from a small country in the middle east(population of 4million).can anyone tell me my chances?
SAT SCORES: 650math 570 reading 530 writing .1220/1750(october) expecting a 690math 580 reading 550 writing in november(1270/1820) SAT2 FRENCH 770.i was told not to focus on the writing. i want to apply to : umich ucsd ucla ucb bu northeastern(i know I'm only aiming for top colleges) my average is about 14/20 which is pretty good for the french system(doing the french baccalaureate)my school is very competitive(1st in the country)i speak 4 languages if that helps too. my classes are very rigorous, im doing economics sociology history frenchliterature arabic english math philosophy.i plan to major in economics. i scored a 7 overall on the ielts (7 in each section). i know that my sat scores arent mind blowing but i didnt really know what the SAT was untill a couple of months ago , so i had no time to study properly for it.I dont need financial aid. My essays recommendations are amazing(what the teachers told me), my EC's are pretty good too. Can anyone tell me realistically what my chances are?wil chance back</p>

<p>You seem a match with ucsd but all the others seem to be reach due to your SATs. Yes, your GPA would translate as a 4.0 unweighted but that’s not enough. Sorry.</p>
<p>You could also add ucd, Clemson, u wisconsin- madison and Southern Methodist in Texas if you and your family would be okay with it. These are the best known colleges that appear as 100% matches in the Super Search.</p>
<p>I guess your alternative would be to wait a year, work on your SAT scores and try again at these more prestigious colleges if you want more ‘bang for your buck’. No harm in working on your IELTS score, too. Makes life a lot easier when you first arrive and everything’s a bit stressful for everyone, native English speakers included.</p>
<p>Try to diversify your list a little unless you’re ready to take a gap year.
Most universities you’re applying to are numerical and will use primarily a combination of GPAXSAT. UMich and UCB pay close attention to the essays. All the schools on your list are reaches due to how selective they are and how many applications they get. The fact you’re full pay will definitely mitigate your SAT scores! Nevertheless, odds are very low simply because they’re low for everyone: I guess your odds are decent at Northeastern but for the rest odds are low (1:10, 1:15). I suggest looking for 2-3 schools with admissions in the 30-40% range and 1-2 schools you consider safeties.
Since you’re full pay, check out Georgia Tech and VTech (if you can hack the math), Rice, UVA, Wake Forest, UMN Twin Cities, Indiana, Penn State. Among those there are enough matches and safeties.</p>
