Chance Me?

Yes, yes, like everyone else here, I’m very interested - okay, perhaps obsessed - with gaining acceptance to Brown. And, like everyone else, I’m nervous and I don’t think I stand a chance against other highly qualified applicants. However, give me a chance, yeah? (Sorry, I like to think I’m funny sometimes.) If it isn’t too much of a bother, of course…

Essays: Strong Common App essay; completed one supplemental - “Why Brown?”; teacher called it “daring” and said she read it in my voice (and could hear my sass, apparently - at my school, calling someone sassy is a term of endearment…sometimes), which I hope is a good thing?
Teacher Recommendation: Should all be above and beyond fantastic: small school, teachers know me very well and I’m extremely close with them
Counselor Rec: Should be excellent; she knows me well
Additional Rec: Musical director - should also be excellent…if he ever gets around to it; he likes me a lot (I took on a lead role sophomore year with only 2 weeks to prepare) and we had an excellent show this year (I think this year’s seniors are his favorite)
Interview: Still have yet to complete

Other:
State (if domestic applicant):
Country (if international applicant):
School Type: Catholic, all-girls, college-prep, VERY small

Gender: Female

Well, not bad. Try to give the SAT again, maybe? The rest mostly depends on Brown. Because of holistic admissions they have different ways of going about the selection process. Make sure your essay is REALLY strong, in whatever way you express yourself. All you have to do is make sure they remember you once they’ve read the application. The rest is mostly upto chance.

Definitely take another standardized test. Try out the ACT. Other than that, your stats are awesome :)

Thanks so much, you two!

I just got my ACT results:
31 composite (35 E, 33 M, 27 R, 28 S, 9 W)

I also sent in all my stuff, and I took a creative approach to the “Where have you lived all you life?” essay and mentioned one of the professors in another supplement; hopefully, that’ll catch their attention?
